Colin took Hank for his two year check up yesterday afternoon. Hank is tipping the scales at a lean 25 pounds, which is the 14th percentile for kids his age. He is 33.5" tall, which is the 25th percentile. Our doctor was very pleased with these numbers because they are on track for his growth curve, and his height to weight ratio is good.
They talked a lot about Hank's picky eating and determined a daily
multivitamin would be a good idea. She was really happy with his
language, his sleeping, and his interest in potty training.
Two year olds don't need any immunization booster shots, so the only sad part of the appointment was a blood draw. Hank was tested for allergies at one year and was determined to have a slight peanut allergy. The plan was to re-test at 2 to see if he has out-grown the allergy. The nurse had a hard time finding a vein and had to try both arms. Colin said that part was really miserable, but Hank calmed down shortly after leaving the doctor's office. He was proud of his bandaids when he got home, though! The nurse will call me sometime within a week with the results. It would be so great if we could try peanut butter with him!
