Sick Again...

Oh man, this past Saturday was ROUGH. We had a great time at the Museum of Discovery with some friends...
until Hank threw up. By the time I got him to the car he was burning up and shivering all over. I took his temp as soon as we got home, and it was 103. I gave him Ibuprofen, and he napped in my arms.
Less than 3 hours later, I woke him to take his temp again. He started throwing up and temp said 104. Colin and I both were really scared. We gave him rectal Tylenol (so he wouldn't throw it up) and hightailed it to the ER at Children's Hospital. He was so pitiful. By the time we saw a triage nurse his temp was down to 102 from the Tylenol, but he was still really puny and his heart rate was 190!! That got us bumped to the top of the wait list (thank god, the estimate was 3 hours wait), but the doc said 190 was not really as scary as the nurse made it seem. High fever plus being upset made it race. We were only at Children's for about 2 hours, and he was pretty much fine by the time we left.

We put him to bed and gave him tylenol twice during the night. He woke up at 8 am with no fever and stayed fever free all day Sunday. No throwing up either. He had been so much better on Sunday and Monday, but now he has lots of snot and a rattly cough.
Hank had fever again last night. Day care called me at 4:20 and said it was 102.9, so I took him to the pediatrician at 4:45. The temp was 101 at the doc office without medicine, so either it came down by itself or one of the thermometers was wrong. Either way he had fever again and was acting puny. His teacher Ms. Rita said he had been fine all day til after nap :( He slept through the night after Tylenol at 7pm, but he had 101 when he woke up at 6. My MIL came and got him and the dog for the day.
The pediatrician tested for flu, and that came back negative. His ears, throat and chest were all fine. The doc thinks it is just a virus still. She said if the temp gets back up to 103 or 104 to bring him back and they can do blood work and check for a UTI.  This stinks!

That picture of him sitting in his hospital bed is precious. What a cute boy :)
