Clinton Library 5th Anniversary

Yesterday was the fifth anniversary of the Clinton Presidential Library's grand opening. President Clinton was in town to celebrate "Five Years of Giving," and Colin bought us tickets to attend a luncheon at the Library. President Clinton was the keynote speaker! Arkansas in general but especially Little Rock has benefited so much from President Clinton. He spoke about his library, education, health care and energy.

We were in the back of the covered dining area, but we could still see very well. The place was packed! Can you tell Colin was excited?

The last pic is from 2005 at one of our first visits to the library. Our friend Michael snuck this shot from the second story!

FREE

I am in love with Pandora internet radio.

So far, i have created the following radio stations: the Smiths, Wilco, Neil Young, Taylor Swift and Superchunk. I listen to it all day at work on my phone and sometimes on my laptop at home in the kitchen. I am re-discovering music from high school and college that my old roommates introduced me to. I really got into Neil Young for a few years while I was living in Conway. I think I was depressed then. That is around the same time when my roommates Lindsay and Cookie introduced me to music like Superchunk, Fugazi, Built to Spill, Modest Mouse and Cat Power. I had access to more than double my music collection and when I stopped living with those girls that music went with them. Now I can find just about anything when the mood strikes me!

I must say that I am a sucker for all things free, and good music free is at the top of that list. Other free things that i love: renting movies from the library, hand me downs from friends and family (you are not too old for this), taking Pujols to the dog park at murray park…

I still love Neil Young. I got to see him perform live at Bonnaroo about five years ago. Cross that off the list. check!

Good Day Sunshine

Here is Pujols trying to look serious. Note the mud on his shnozzle, the paisley collar, and the long white chin whisker.
Surprise! This little beauty popped up in my front yard this week along with tons of shamrocks.
Fall planters. This is the first year on record that I have not killed my mums.

This is one of the two camellia bushes that I got from Dave and Cynthia on my birthday this year. I am delighted to report the numerous blossoms! Thanks again, D&C!

they just keep coming...

Pujols apparently buries toys, too! (that's his frisbee)
After raking away the top layer of leaves, there is a solid layer of acorns covering the yard.
And our trees are still full of leaves!

time to rake!

In honor of all the raking that I intend to do this week, here are some beautiful snapshots of fall trees. I will try to get a picture of my backyard tomorrow, to prove just how many stinkin acorns have fallen back there.

and, to top it all off, a picture of a dog asleep on an SUV in the el porton parking lot. I am not sure why or how this happened, but I got a picture!

my best friend's wedding

Anna's wedding weekend was so much fun! Anna and her mom Christine had thought of every last detail to make a perfect wedding. Lauren and Elise were in town from Richmond, Rebekah was in town from San Francisco, and Lydia was here from New York City. We got to spend lots of good girl time having a bridesmaids luncheon, getting our nails done, having our hair and makeup done, and toasting the bride at every possible occasion!

The bridesmaids and the bride! Lauren, Eve, Lydia, Anna, Rebekah, Elise Sweet Colin was a terrific date for all of the festivities.
We boogeyed all night long!
A slideshow of the wedding and reception is over at Sarah Bussey's blog: sarahbusseyphotography.com She did an amazing job with the pictures!
