Weakened like Achilles

Well, in case you haven't heard, my husband has torn his Achilles tendon. He saw his orthopedic surgeon Dr. Pruitt yesterday afternoon and has surgery scheduled for Friday morning at 8:45. They will sew the tendon back together, and then put him in a cast for six weeks. The tendon should be healed completely within six months. Poor Colin.

I asked the surgeon if there is any reason why Colin keeps getting injured like this, and the doctor said that he is just really unlucky. Apparently, this sort of thing can happen to anyone, but it sure does stink that it happened to Colin. We are both trying to be positive about it, and there have been so many wonderful offers from friends to help us out. My dad is going to mow our yard, and Colin's coworkers already brought us dinner over one night this week.

Pujols is scared of the crutches, but he does give Colin's hurt foot an occasional lick to make it feel better. Aren't they cute?
