My sister Jill took this picture of me on Christmas morning about an hour before my water broke. We had all finished opening presents and adjourned to the kitchen to begin making Christmas breakfast. Thus the stripey apron. I was 36 weeks and 5 days pregnant.
After trying to help by making a fruit tray, I realized that I was just too tired to be of any use in the kitchen. I went back to the living room and found a cozy spot for a quick cat nap. Larkin took these pictures of me on the sly. I am wearing the new blue booties that Larkin had crocheted for me, and I had pulled my cardigan over my face like a sleep mask.
I slept for only about 15 or 30 minutes. I skedaddled to the bathroom as soon as I woke up, and sure enough my water had broken! After telling my whole family and getting my shoes on, Colin and I were out of there. It was a very surreal day for many reasons. I still can hardly hardly believe that my baby's birthday is on Christmas!

Correction: that pic was taken right after you had woken up. Moments before you announced your water had broken. I was so pleased to have gotten that pic like two minutes before your announcement. What a fun morning!!
