34 Weeks

34 weeks is here!  That means only six weeks til my due date!  Colin and I splurged this week on a new chair.  Technically, I picked it out and Colin ok'ed it after the fact, but he is very pleased with the purchase.  I never thought that I would buy a recliner, but after sitting in my mother in law's recliner over Thanksgiving, I realized that reclining is an excellent way to get comfortable when I have baby feet jammed in my ribcage!  The above picture is a little blurry, but it is a now very common sight in our household.  Me, sitting in the recliner with my feet up, and Pujols sitting on the floor wondering what the heck happened to his papasan chair that used to be in that spot.  We are going to break him of getting on the furniture.  He doesn't understand why he is being punished, but I got him a new dog pillow for the den to make up for it.
The turtleneck that I am wearing in these pictures was my sister Jill's when she was pregnant with M.K.  It is finally cold enough here to wear real winter clothes!  Starting this week, Hank is almost completely developed and is just starting to put on weight to prepare him for the real world.  He is starting to really feel heavy, and my skin is getting thinner looking as it continues to stretch.  Hank kicks and kicks and sometimes people can actually see my belly moving from across the room!  He especially likes to bunch up in a big ball in my upper belly.  That is when the recliner really comes in handy.
I have had lots of people in stores ask me about when I am due.  Several have actually gasped when they saw my belly before exclaiming, "when are you due??"  Two different people said, "when is your little boy due?" I didn't ask how they figured it was a boy.  In other news, I still feel pretty great most of the time.  It is a little bit hard to hoist myself out of bed and I tend to get heartburn after most meals, but overall I can't complain!

I'm glad to see that my maternity hand me downs are coming in handy ;) The late 90s style of long flowing tops are helpful at the end of the pregnancy, huh? You look great!
