Backyard Beauty

Weeping Cherry tree. we have two.

the daffodils are still looking good.
I think this one is called Flowering Quince. My mom calls it Japonica. Janet says it is an 'old fashioned plant.' Whatever it is, I love it!
We planted this Dogwood tree last year on our wedding date. Dogwoods are one of my favorite trees, and I can't wait for this one to flower. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will since it is still so small. I'll let you know how it goes!Forsythia. I have two big bushes of this stuff, but it didn't bloom very well this year. I am thinking that it doesn't get enough sun, so I might chop it back after its done blooming. I love the few flowers that it does have right now.

Spring is definitely my favorite time of year! I just transplanted a butterfly bush and 15 lilies from my parents' backyard last night. I hope they survive the move! What is your favorite spring bloomer?

I love to see Saucer Magnolias bloom. Really, all magnolias. Thanks for the spring spirit when it's only 34 degrees. It helps! Love, LG
