Moving

My sister Larkin has lived in Memphis, Tennessee for the past six years. I love going to visit her there, and I always love driving over the mighty Mississippi River. That means I am there! She is moving back to Arkansas this month, and I had promised to come over this past weekend to help her pack.
But then it snowed. And iced. I finally ventured out of my driveway on Sunday afternoon after getting permission from my boss to take Monday off work. The interstate was almost totally clear, but there were lots of semis in the medians from the days of winter weather. It was really shocking to see tractor-trailers on their sides or upside down in the middle of the median. But I made it there safely and was greeted by Larkin's sweet dog Sam.
We packed for a few hours last night, and then had dinner at an amazing restaurant called Cafe 1912. It was delicious!
We packed a lot more this morning. I hit the road back to the Rock with a car full of houseplants, cooking spices, and a new (slightly used) compost bin!Yes, that is me in the reflection. Wearing my bathrobe.Doesn't it look like Oscar the Grouch is going to pop out of there? (p.s. the bungee cord is to keep varmints out and the holes are for air circulation. I know you were curious.)

I should brag on Eve and admit that she did so much more packing than me and kept me motivated. And at least 15 women in Memphis are going to be happy that she made me pare down my shoe collection. Love, LG
